Cancelling a ticket in IRCTC is not that hard, but it is not that easy if you are in such a myth. Well, with a little more information, one can get the confidence of doing it all by yourself. Here are a few things that can help you to cancel your ticket in the best way and take note of all these policies and all about its charges for it.

  • If you have already confirmed a ticket and if you have cancelled that before 48 hours of the journey then you just need to pay 250/- for First AC. Cancellations charges stand at 200 for AC 2nd tier, and you can pay accordingly. You need to pay 120 for AC 3rd tier, followed by 180 for AC 3rd tier, 120 for sleeper class and 60 for second class. There is only 25 percent if you cancel your tickets before 12 hours to 48 hours.
  • Less than 12 hours and 4 hours before the departure of the train and upto the chart preparation can end yo back the 50 percent of your total money given as per the ticket price. You can get the refund easily with a single application, and once the chart is done, then it is much harder to get the refund and you need to make a mail to etickets@irctc.com.
  • You will not get any refund if it is a case of RAC(Reservation Against Cancellation) and you need to keep that in your mind. This will not be applicable to the TDR is filed 30 minutes before the departure.
  • No refund is there for the confirmed tatkal tickets. These are some circumstances under which you can get the refund easily.
